A Brave and Startling Truth
I’ll start by saying one thing: I’m lucky.
I’m lucky to be living in an era in which modern medicine and technology are so advanced that even in the face of a global pandemic, I can sit in my home and feel at least some sense of assurance that, as a society, we will pull through this.
Take a moment to listen to the poem posted above (or read it here) and take Maya Angelou’s words to heart.
We can’t do anything about the past and we have limited control of the present, but on the other side of this, our potential is infinite.
Be smart. Stay safe.
When we come to it
We, this people, on this wayward, floating body
Created on this earth, of this earth
Have the power to fashion for this earth
A climate where every man and every woman
Can live freely without sanctimonious piety
Without crippling fearWhen we come to it
We must confess that we are the possible
We are the miraculous, the true wonder of this world
That is when, and only when
We come to it.
